Te Rā makes sunglasses for babies and kids, from newborns to 12 year olds. Every pair is built for New Zealand sun and for the way kids treat their things.
Hi, I'm Nisreen
I'm a mum of 2 boys. I wanted sunglasses that would stay on their faces, survive being sat on and properly protect their eyes.
That's what Te Rā is. Every style was tested on my own boys before it went on sale. If they wouldn't wear it, it didn't make the range.
Te Rā is a small, NZ-owned business. I pack orders in Auckland and answer your messages myself.
Sunnies that last, fit and protect
- Bend-proof TR90 frames. They flex, twist and spring back instead of snapping.
- Polarised UV400 lenses. They block 100% of UVA and UVB and cut glare off sand and water.
- Certified to AS/NZS 1067.1:2016, the NZ and Australian safety standard for sunglasses.
- Soft elastic headbands on our baby styles, so they stay on through pram rides and beach days.
If you want a cheap pair to get through one summer, we're not for you. If you want one pair that lasts, we are.
Te Rā means the sun
Te Rā means the sun in te reo Māori. Each style has a te reo name too, like Mahuru, Rito, Whetū and Koru.
It's how we honour where we're from and the culture our kids are growing up in.
